Though Robert Sherman's background is in classical music, his long-running program Woody's Children made him a de facto authority on contemporary folk. The long-running show got its start at WQXR in 1969, a natural time to spark the interest in folk music that continues today. The series moved to WFUV in the fall of 1999, and aired through January of 2023.
