SXSW 2015: Public Radio Rocks Day Stage Showcase
From NYC to Austin, Team FUV is getting ready for our annual live broadcast from SXSW. The Public Radio Rocks SXSW Day Stage showcase once again brings live music discovery to the radio, and not only on FUV but on our partner stations: WXPN in Philadelphia, KUTX in Austin, KXT in Dallas and The Current in Minneapolis. So listen along with music fans all over the country for performances by Twin Shadow, Gang of Four, Ryan Bingham, Best Coast, Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear and Courtney Barnett.
Here is the full schedule, with links to the live sets on-demand:
1pm: Twin Shadow
He's sure to feature some of the New Wave-influenced pop of his new album, Eclipse.
2pm: Gang of Four
Led by original guitarist Andy Gill, Britain's post-punk pioneers are back with their new album, What Happens Next.
3pm: Ryan Bingham
"The Weary Kind" writer returns to Texas from LA, with a new batch of songs from album number five, Fear and Saturday Night.
4pm: Best Coast
Bethany Cosentino and Bobb Bruno's new album, California Nights, isn't out until May, so this set will be a sneak preview.
5pm: Madisen Ward and the Mama Bear
Missouri mother-and-son Ruth and Madisen Ward wowed us in Studio A and are now set to release their debut album in May.
6pm: Courtney Barnett
Live shows got the U.S. buzz started for this Australian wordsmith/guitarist, and next week's release of her debut album, Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit, is "anticipated" to put it mildly.
Funding for WFUV's ongoing coverage of live concerts and festivals comes from The Agnes Varis Trust, supporting affordable access to the arts, education and healthcare.
