UKNY for May 24
A conversation with Radiohead's Ed O'Brien on tonight's "UKNY" at 11, talking about his beautiful and eclectic new album as EOB called Earth. O'Brien also discusses his climate activism and strange aspects of stepping forward as a solo artist for the first time. There are so many music forms explored on Earth—everything from Brazilian polyrhythms to Manchester-inspired acid house—and Ed and bandmates play three tracks from the new album that celebrate its diversity: "Shangri-La," "Brasil," and "Olympik."
Also, new releases from Little Simz, Lianne La Havas and Girlhood, plus a wander through an isolated London after dark with singer, saxphonist and producer Laura Misch.
That's "UKNY," Sundays from 11p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 and streaming online. Also available in the Weekend Archives after broadcast.
