Rachael & Vilray: Rockwood Music Hall 2023

I Love a Love Song. That's a personal statement, but more importantly it’s the name of the new Rachael & Vilray album.

This is the second release for singer and songwriter Lake Street Dive's Rachael Price and guitarist, singer and songwriter Vilray as a duo and it is a wonderful addition to their 2019 self-titled debut. (They also played FUV's 2022 High Line Bash.)

These two make beautiful music together and if you didn’t know any better you’d think that these songs were plucked from the 1930s. Rachael & Vilray are well versed in jazz and the American Songbook and their original songs are delightfully transporting, capturing a bygone era and mood, but with a contemporary twist.

For over 15 years, Price has been charming us with her sweet-as-honey voice with Lake Street Dive — and Vilray is pretty easy on the ears too. The friends, who met back in college, are a rare treat in concert, as you can hear in this FUV Live performance from Rockwood Music Hall.
