The Wild Feathers are on FUV Live tonight at 9.

About a year ago, musicians Joel King and Ricky Young decided that they wanted to form the ultimate "un-super group." Recalling the days when they were first trying to flesh out this idea, Young says, "I wanted to do something greater than what I could do on my own and create something bigger than any one of us individually." So the two Nashville-based musicians reached out to friends and were put in touch with Taylor Burns, Preston Wimberly and Ben Jarvis who would complete the lineup of The Wild Feathers and go on to record a self-titled debut.

The sound of this new band has been described as, "If Led Zeppelin and The Band had a baby in Joshua Tree that grew up listening to Ryan Adams covering The Stones' '70s country influenced songs." We'll hear that very interesting mix during this FUV Live session with the band, who also performed a bonus song while they were in Studio A: a cover of Tom Petty's "Listen To Her Heart." Be sure to check out the video of it below. [recorded: 07/08/13]
