White Rabbits - Words and Music - 2012

Tonight at 9pm on Words and Music: It's double the drums, with Brooklyn-via-Missouri band White Rabbits.

I was very pleased to see that I had gotten the White Rabbits interview. I absolutely loved their last record, It's Frightening, and I still rock that album three years later.  And, I'm happy to report that their new album, Milk Famous, is also awesome.

I'm a big fan of these guys. I think they are very talented and precise players, and... they rock the double drum kit. What?! Yes. Also, I'm usually a guitar lick girl, but the bass lines really propel their music. There are some cool guitar sounds layered in though and piano too!

Milk Famous is definitely darker and not as immediately catchy as the last album, but I still really enjoy it. I asked their frontman, Stephen Patterson, what was up with all the creepy lyrics (not as crudely as that... I hope) and he denied that there was a nervous energy about the songs. But I like that nervous energy. I can identify. Why deny? Anyway, the guys were nice, posed for pics, and even remembered me from last time they were here.
