In the spirit of music discovery which guides WFUV, our DJs offer their favorite new artists on the cusp of making it to the next level.

The Glasgow quintet White has just a handful of brilliant singles to their name, including "Future Pleasures" and "Blush," and they won't even embark on their first UK tour until February.

But White's panache for pulsing, early '80s-style synth-pop, veering brilliantly and frenetically between essences of David Bowie, Orange Juice, ABC, Suede, Associates and Franz Ferdinand, is totally addictive.

Singer Leo Condie, whose hyperkinetic croon enters a song like a deranged beast, apparently attended the Jarvis Cocker academy for cerebral, sexy frontmen with floppy hair and spasmodic dance moves. A band that could become the LCD Soundsystem of Scotland.
