Warpaint: 2016

The Los Angeles quartet Warpaint is back with a brilliant new album called Heads Up. The new songs demonstrate the progression in skill and song craft from each of the four members: Emily Kokal (vocals, guitar), Theresa Wayman (vocals, guitar), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass, backing vocals), and Stella Mozgawa (drums).

Their talents combine like a powerful groundswell, pulling you in. I’ve been a fan of all of their albums, but this third one is perhaps their best yet.
