Meandering the globe — down different, disconnected avenues — on tonight's "UKNY" at 11pm with a Ireland's Sprints leading the way with "Better" from their second album, All That is Over. Singer Karla Chubb says it is definitely not a love song. Sprints' latest album makes its way into the world this Friday, September 26.

Another Irish artist, Dove Ellis, is touring with Geese in North America and has a beautiful new single which makes the most of his ethereally mutable voice, somewhat reminiscent of Jeff Buckley's wistful dreaminess. The Last Dinner Party's lead singer Abigail Morris also finds a deep nuance of grief resonant in her vocals for "The Scythe," the quintet's second single from their soon-to-arrive From the Pyre, due October 17.

Recent releases from Brighton's congratulations, Ghent's Soulwax, Lima-Berlin's Sofia Kourtesis, and Los Angeles's Thundercat as well, plus a left turn into the legacy of the 2 Tone label  (still relevant, 46 years later, given contemporary current events).

Finally, remembering Robert Redford, who passed away on Tuesday, with a set; he was a BAFTA winner for Best Actor in 1970 (for "Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid," "Tell Them Willie Boy is Here," and "Downhill Racer").

That's "UKNY," Sundays from 11pm-midnight, on 90.7FM, streaming online and in the Archives after broadcast.
