Earlier this year, Manchester-based neo-jungle and drum 'n' bass producer and singer Nia Archives released her Forbidden Feelingz EP — a formidable breakout and declaration of intent from this gifted, adventurous musician, just 22.  Nia is back with a brand new single with a Brazilian twist and on "UKNY" at 11 p.m. tonight, that exhilarating track.

More fresh sounds from Bristol, England and Chicago, Illinois duo Prima Queen, Manchester poet and rapper Antony Szmierek, and Notthingham's Divorce, who revel in their new, wry murder ballad, cheerfully wreathed in the tumbleweeds of American country-western forebears. I'm enamored of a very pretty track found on Scottish producer Hudson Mohawke's first album in seven years, Cry Baby, plus digging more deeply into Sampa the Great's second album of identity and independence, As Above, So Below.

Finally, to end the hour, a set dedicated to the late Loretta Lynn, bolstered by new releases by two songwriters, one from Arkansas and the other from Kentucky, who carry on Lynn's legacy of candor and storytelling: Ashley McBryde and Joan Shelley.

All that and much more on "UKNY," British and international releases from 11 p.m.-midnight Sundays, on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and in the Weekend Archives after broadcast.
