Amsterdam's Nana Adjoa has released one of the strongest debut albums of 2020 with Big Dreaming Ants, artfully zigzagging between self-realization and broader examinations of global chaos, from neo-nationalism to rudderless politics. As a songwriter, she uses broad brushstrokes of her Ghanaian heritage, her jazz training, and her love of funk and rock as a catalyst for this first full release. On tonight's UKNY at 11 — the show has returned to Sunday nights moving forward — another track from Nana's album, which was released late last month.

The anonymous British collective SAULT returns with another brilliant release of racial justice, empowerment and dance bliss, their second double album of this year, called Untitled (Rise), and The xx's Romy has also forged a fresh solo path with a club-minded new single. After tweaking their sound and lineup, West Yorkshire's Working Men's Club faced pandemic delays releasing their self-titled debut, but as of Friday it's out in the world, a wiry bundle of nerves and grooves. Also, new releases from London's Goat Girl; more from another mysterious trio with Nashville roots, Coco; Dutch-Sudanese musician Gaidaa; and a flurry of Fleetwood Mac covers.

That's UKNY, Sunday nights from 11 p.m.-midnight on 90.7, streaming online and available in the Weekend Archives after broadcast.
