Dublin sextet Madra Salach, whose provocative, post-rock take on Irish folk has a mesmerizing gravitas, have been selling out their headlining gigs at a rapid clip, especially after the release of their gripping debut EP, It's a Hell of an Age, earlier this year. The band, making their live New York debut in November for three (very sold-out) shows, will release their debut album Gorta on January 15, produced by Loren Humphrey (Geese, Westside Cowboy, Cameron Winter). On "UKNY" tonight at 7pm, the first single drawn from that album.

Manchester's Porij are also back with their first new single of this year, a sweet, ruminative sigh, Also, the jaunty title track of Brooklyn-based Mei Semones's forthcoming second album, Howl, and a dark industrial twist from Fontaines D.C.'s Dopamine Chamber, which arrives this Friday, October 16.

Also in the mix,  Hackney's John Glacier, London jazz collective Qwalia, Parisian-London quintet Spanish Horses, Melbourne's Margo Mann, and Michael Kiwanuka, whose beautiful, forthcoming album, Fudge, was recorded before his serious illness.

That's "UKNY," Sundays from 7-8 p.m., on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
