Last autumn, Irish-born, UK-based singer and songwriter Dove Ellis released an extraordinary EP, to the sandals, a seven-track introduction to his percipient songwriting and ethereal, brawny, breathtaking voice (yes, multiple adjectives; there are more I could add).  "To the Sandals," the EP's title track, was released as a single again earlier this year. a preamble to Ellis's fantastic debut album, Blizzard, which is released this Friday, December 5. I finally caught up to Ellis and his band live earlier this month, on tour with Geese and Racing Mount Pleasant; a knockout of a set which floored me and flocks of Geese fans who filled Brooklyn Paramount, cheering Ellis on.

On tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m., another song found on Ellis's Blizzard, perfectly timed for frigid winter days. Also, more from Dry Cleaning's forthcoming Secret Love, out in January, and Yukimi's new Yume EP.  Public Service Broadcasting not only have new remix album, Night Flight - The Last Flight Remixes, but they'll be in New York playing Irving Plaza on December 9.

And not to bury the lede, but the hour starts off with an FUV Live session with Pulp and a conversation with Jarvis Cocker, who muses on aging, Glastonbury, and the band's first album in 24 years, More.

That's "UKNY," Sundays from 11pm-midnight, on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.

Songs played:

1. A Pulp FUV Live session and conversation with Jarvis Cocker, includes live versions of “Tina,” “Grown Ups” and “Slow Jam.”
