On his captivating debut EP, Aiming Torches at the Sun, Dermot Henry's perceptive, finely-etched songs  branch from love and loneliness, toggling between grander arrangements and quieter byways. Working with Dom Monks (Laura Marling, Michael Kiwanuka, Big Thief) on this EP, it's clear that Henry has a good idea of where he wants to be as a songwriter. On tonight's "UKNY" at 7 p.m., more from Henry's five-song first EP.

You might have caught RIP Magic opening for LCD Soundsystem last December at Knockdown Center — the London band has released their followup to their James Murphy-produced debut single, "5Words." Dublin's caustic and thrilling Gurriers are hurtling to their second album, Nobody's Coming to Save You, on September 25, releasing the title track.

The Last Dinner Party have finally released one of the previously unreleased highlights of their live sets — and Basement is back, after eight years, with what is the Ipswich rock band's best album to date, WIRED.

Also, more from Hamburg's Brockhoff, Brighton's The Stanford Family Band, London's Family Stereo, and New York-born, L.A.-based aja monet's exquisite second album, the color of rain. And a farewell to the magnificent Sonny Rollins too.

That's "UKNY," Sundays from 7-8 p.m., on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
