Among the many standout bands playing Brighton's The Great Escape this weekend, the much-anticipated festival for new music, is HotWax, a Hastings trio of three 18-year-olds with scorching guitar chops. Comprised of guitarist and singer Tallulah Sim-Savage, bassist Lola Sim, and drummer Alfie Sayers, the band is on the brink of releasing their debut EP, A Thousand Times, this coming week, May 19, afloat on a raft of excitement for their riveting live shows and savage-soft song structure. They'll be sharing festival stages with Queens of the Stone Age, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, and The Strokes this summer, On "UKNY" tonight at 11 p.m., the title track of that forthcoming EP.

I'll also have a  second track from Grian Chatten's forthcoming solo debut album, Chaos for the Fly, and something new from an unfortunately named, but absolutely fantastic Hertfordshire duo called Dog Food that just dropped a second second, a surprising four-minute ride.

Plus, a breezy release from Rachel Chinouriri, Arlo Parks and Phoebe Bridgers align for a duet, and something from Steve Mason's outstanding new album, Brothers & Sisters, featuring Pakistani and Bollywood star Javed Bashir.

All that and more on "UKNY," Sundays from 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
