In 2021, London's Rachel Chinouriri released one of the most beautiful EPs of that year, Four° In Winter, one of my absolute favorite releases. She's been releasing music for several years, adventurous and probing songs, drawn from her experiences and those of her friends. She's supported artists such as Lianne La Havas and Celeste and back in July, sold out four of her own shows at London's St. Pancras Church. A brand new single released this spring heralds a new chapter for Chinouriri, who has signed to Atlas Artists Recordings/Parlophone and on "UKNY" at 11 p.m., I'll get to that very pretty new song.

Brand new recordings from London's Moreish Idols too — another band signed to Dan Carey's influential Speedy Wunderground — and Manchester's Abbie Ozard with an upbeat single with astrological wit.  New York's Tchotchke have a sunny gem of a track and the innovative pairing of tenor saxophonist Binker Golding and drummer Moses Boyd, joined by electronic artist Max Luthert, evolves on Binker & Moses's new album, Feeding the Machine.

I had the chance to see both Dublin's Fontaines D.C. and Dundalk's Just Mustard this past week at Brooklyn Steel – a visceral pairing of two powerful bands — so I'll dip into tracks from those two divinely gifted Irish groups too.

That's "UKNY," Sundays 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and found in the Weekend Archives after broadcast.
