SXSW 2024: Q&As

We're putting a wrap on SXSW 2024 in Austin, Texas. This year's Team FUV included me, production director Meghan Offtermatt, assistant program director Eric Gottlieb, and photographer Gus Philippas. However, as we discovered when we arrived in Austin on March 13, some artists and bands made the difficult choice to withdraw from official SXSW showcases due to their objection to some of the festival's sponsors. Still, some remained in town to play unofficial parties and events.
On this Q&A recap, which aired on "UKNY" on March 31, conversations that Meghan and I had with London's Nabihah Iqbal, Cardiff-based Gruff Rhys, Seattle's Kassa Overall, Nashville-based Madi Diaz and Los Angeles- based Fabi Reyna of Reyna Tropical about their complicated SXSW experience this year, as well as the music that they were in Texas to play.
