With her third album, Kiss Big, Dublin's Ailbhe Reddy dives into the tempest of a breakup — and the a raw montage of emotions that accompany the collapse of a relationship. The album is just a half hour in length, but its lands with punch. One of Kiss Big's many highlights is Reddy's intuitive use of a 1998 monologue by the late playwright Sarah Kane, with the permission of the late writer's estate. On "UKNY" at 7 p.m., that striking intersection of Reddy and Kane.

The London and Manchester septet The Slow Country has signed to the Heist or Hit label and have a brand new song – produced by Bill Ryder-Jones. Shabaka is the mononym used by multi-instrumentalist, composer and bandleader Shabaka Hutchings (Sons of Kemet, The Comet is Coming) — and he's on the cusp of releasing a second solo album, Of the Earth.

Brighton's Lime Garden throws out another sly, sardonic volley from their forthcoming Maybe Not Tonight, out on April 10. Also, contributions from Ezra Collective, Greentea Peng, and The Last Dinner Party that will be on the HELP(2), the War Child benefit album, out on Friday.

Also, the New Colossus Festival takes place this week, from March 3-8, and I'll have a set of some of the bands that will be running around the Lower East Side all week, going gig to gig, including Hong Kong's Lucid Express and Glasgow's shoegazy Dallas Love Field.

All that and more on "UKNY," Sundays from 7-8 p.m., on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
