Not only a fresh, kinda funky haircut for Damon Albarn, but a new solo album on the horizon: The Nearer the Fountain, More Pure the Stream Flows, due out November 12 via the Transgressive label. On "UKNY" at 11 tonight, an early tease from that album, but if you happened to see Albarn's set as part of Glastonbury's "Live at Worthy Farm" stream back in May, he opened his lovely set with the song we'll hear.

New releases as well from Piroshka, paying tribute to visionary 4AD art director Vaughan Oliver, and Tokyo-born, London-based Anchorsong, traveling far-flung locales in his busy imagination. Buzzy Liverpool-based Chinatown Slalom release a new EP, Meet the Parents, on July 2, and Brighton duo Anushka will drop their album, Yemaya, on that day as well. Bristol's Ishmael Ensemble have a beautiful new album out this August, called Visions of Light, and beabadoobee's new EP, Our Extended Play, is in the mood for love.

All that and much more on "UKNY," Sundays 11p.m.-midnight, on 90.7, streaming online, and available after broadcast in the Weekend Archives.
