Since tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m. begins with an FUV Live session with Gruff Rhys, one the beacons of contemporary Welsh songwriting, it made sense to dedicate the entire hour to artists from across Wales, stretching from Cardiff to Caldicot to Bethesda.

In addition to Gruff and his bandmates performing songs from this year's beautifully realized Sadness Sets Me Free, I'll also have new music from Los Campesinos! who've announced the forthcoming release of their first album since 2017, called All Hell. That certainly describes the world at the moment (despite those occasional bright quasars), and the Cardiff collective's "The Psychic Wound" is a succinct distillation of universal angst. All Hell is released on July 19th and Los Campesinos! play Brooklyn's Warsaw on June 15.

Also, new releases from Elkka, Dan Amor, The Bug Club, and more.

A Welsh sojourn on tonight's "UKNY," Sundays 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online and in the Archives after broadcast.
