If you're headed to Central Park SummerStage this evening to see Corinne Bailey Rae in concert (the event is free, from 7-10 p.m.), enjoy a radio nightcap with Corinne and her band in session on "UKNY" tonight at 11 p.m., talking about and playing songs from her brilliant 2023 album, Black Rainbows. Corinne's passion project, which followed an extended residency and multiple visits at Chicago's Stony Island Arts Bank has inspired what is the height of her already impressive career; but to hear her speak at length about her journey, and the Black history, culture, and pain that shaped these songs, is deeply absorbing. Rae is not only a songwriter, but an innate historian, and is always edifying and illuminating to chat with her.

Following the session with Corinne, new music from Rachel Chinouriri, Yaya Bey, Ibibio Sound Machine, Ezra Collective (bound for Central Park SummerStage on July 7) and a summertime dance daydream courtesy of Chris Lake, Sammy Virji and The Boxer Rebellion's Nathan Nicholson.

That's "UKNY" spanning British and global releases on Sundays, 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
