Four Tet's Kieran Hebden and William Tyler first met in 2013 at Bonnaroo. The two friends, swapping ideas over the years and releasing a couple of songs in 2023, have shared memories as teenagers, listening to the alt-country and Americana musicians that their fathers loved, such as Lyle Lovett and the late Nanci Griffith. Those reminiscences propelled Hebden and Tyler to record their first album together, 41 Longfield Street Late '80s, released on September 19. On "UKNY" tonight at 11 p.m. Hebden and Tyler's dreamy, epic cover of a sweet Lovett song from 1988.

Galway's NewDad have a new, London-inspired EP called Safe and Vancouver's Dan Mangan's seventh album, Natural Light, illuminates some hard truths about today.  Little Simz's magnificent (and alternately painful and liberating) Lotus is out in the world just as she curates the Meltdown Festival at Southbank Centre, which began Thursday.

In addition, Soot Sprite, Pulp (with a No. 1 UK album), yeule, Nilüfer Yanya, Westside Cowboy, and much more.

British and global releases on "UKNY," Sundays 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
