UKNY For June 11
Tonight on UKNY at 11, the return of The Invisible, the London trio of Dave Okumu, Tom Herbert and Leo Taylor, who released their third album, Patience, on Friday. It's been a tough four years for Okumu, between the death of his mother and the musician's own near-fatal onstage electrocution in 2012 which derailed The Invisible's tour supporting Rispah, the band's second album. Happily, The Invisible are back and Patience features some wonderful contributions from Okumu's friends and collaborators Jessie Ware, Rosie Lowe, Anna Calvi and Connan Mockasin.
Also, new releases from Slow Club, California Snow Story and Plaid and a long set entwining the music of this week's FUV Essentials artist, Prince, with some of the female British artists he counted as collaborators and friends.
