UKNY For July 29
Iggy Pop drops some idiosyncratic advice, gruff reminiscences, and wry nuggets across the sprawling four tracks that encompass the far-too-brief Teatime Dub Encounters, a buoyant EP with Underworld's Rick Smith and Karl Hyde. (Smith cleverly hijacked Pop in a posh London hotel.) The ever-brilliant Essex electronic duo and the droll Miami sage have pulled off one of the most delightfully unexpected collaborations of the summer.
On UKNY at 11, something from that just-released gem plus new offerings from Manchester's Virginia Wing, the London duo IDER, Bristol's furious IDLES, and the trio Linda Guilala from Vigo, Spain.
