UKNY for July 27

Although most of her solo releases have been in Welsh or Cornish, Gwenno's fourth album, Utopia, is primarily in English, what the Mercury Prize nominee calls a desire for a little reinvention. On tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m., Gwenno's beautiful title track.
Singer and songwriters Skydaddy and Tyler Cryde (the latter is the solo project of Black Country, New Road's Tyler Hyde) will be playing at Night Club 101 on Tuesday night, so a pair of songs from them as they workshop new ideas in New York. And ahead of their North American tour later this summer — and their New York debut at Elsewhere on September 18 — Divorce has a just-released one-off single with a six-year journey to completion.
Jamie xx is headed for Under the K Bridge in Brooklyn on August 1 and 2 — and last week released a dreamy track that's been part of his In Waves tour sets. I'll also have omething from Obongjayar's Paradise Now, following his euphoric sold-out show this past Thursday night at Music Hall of Williamsburg (and he also stopped by for an FUV Live session with his bandmates).
