Manchester-based Abbie Ozard's third EP, the brand new Water Based Lullabies, is a seven-track, summer-stoked composite of grungy melodic rockers, luminous indie pop, and smart lyrical turns. It's an impressive release from the Cheshire-raised songwriter, who made her Glastonbury debut last month. I've been playing several early singles from Abbie's record over the last few months and on tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m., digging a bit deeper into this bright, breezy gem of an EP.

A Blur-y set too, with new offerings from Damon Albarn in his Gorillaz guise, Dave Rowntree, and Graham Coxon's new duo, The WAEVE. Just-released Beth Orton, Beatenberg, and Scottish producer Barry Can't Swim too, as well as a few perfect — and surprising — covers, including a haunting take on a Kate Bush anthem from New York-based Cécile McLorin Salvant, who has gigs in London this coming week.

British and international releases on Sunday nights, 11 p.m.-midnight, on "UKNY," on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and available in the Weekend Archives after broadcast.
