A span of three January days, bookending David Bowie's birthday on January 8, 1947 to the anniversary of his death on January 10, 2016, have become a rock 'n' roll Easter of sorts for fans to reflect on the musician's music, influence, and eternal ineffable cool. There are also rereleases and complilations that have been making their appearance around this time, and this year is no different, with the long-awaited official unveiling of Bowie's "lost" album TOY, recorded in 2000 with his crack live band of Mark Plati, Sterling Campbell, Gail Ann Dorsey, Earl Slick, Mike Garson, Holly Palmer, and Emm Gryner.

On "UKNY" tonight at 11 p.m., I'll dig into TOY, as well as several other Bowie-related releases, to honor the man who is still deeply missed.

Also, the debut from The Smile, the trio of Thom Yorke, Jonny Greewood, and Sons of Kemet's Tom Skinner, Ghent's Charlotte Adigéry and Bolis Pupul, and Melbourne's Husky Gawenda, who released a solo album in December called Bedroom Ice Age.

That's "UKNY," Sundays from 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7, streaming online, and available in the Weekend Archives after broadcast.
