Tonight's UKNY at 11 is globe trekking with new releases from Melbourne's Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever,  Auckland-bred Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Cambridge's Nervous Conditions, and the Orielles from Halifax, Yorkshire.

Two iconic musicians left this mortal coil earlier this week — Manchester's volatile and irascible punk poet Mark E. Smith of the Fall and South Africa's beloved Hugh Masekela whose pioneering jazz artistry and courageous anti-apartheid activism galvanized a generation. I'll have sets for both of these unique musicians, touching on how their legacies continue to inspire and captivate younger artists today.

Missed the show? You can catch up to UKNY on demand immediately after broadcast in the Weekend Archives.
