UKNY For February 6
Tonight's UKNY at 11 revels in the overdue return of Laura Mvula, Massive Attack and Emma Pollock, ex of The Delgados, with a new single, EP, and album respectively. Also, the effervescent French pop of Manchester's Whyte Horses. And the Commonwealth Cut is a not-so-guilty pleasure: one of my favorite singles in 2008 receiving an unexpected resurrection eight years later.
Also, a lengthy David Bowie set that spins off of the sessions for Young Americans and the soulful Philly bridge between Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Luther Vandross, and even Cher (check out the video of David on Cher's variety show in 1975).
Missed the show? You can catch up to UKNY on demand as of Monday in the FUV weekend archives up to two weeks after broadcast.
