UKNY For February 25
Back in November 2014 when the seminal shoegaze band Ride reunited and toured (and even stopped by for an FUV Live session in 2015), Mark Gardener, Andy Bell, Loz Colbert and Steve Queralt didn't dismiss the idea of returning to a recording studio for a fifth — and very overdue — album. Well, that album is on its way this spring and the Oxford-bred group released not one, but two new singles this week, their first studio recordings since the release of 1996's Tarantula.
We'll hear those new songs on tonight's UKNY at 11, plus sublime singles from Laura Marling, Ten Fé, Jane Weaver, Manuela (a duet that includes Nick McCarthy, ex of Franz Ferdinand) and a gorgeous cover from the 1975, the proceeds of which will benefit War Child, aiding children in war-ravaged countries.
Missed the show? You can stream UKNY in the FUV Weekend Archives for two weeks after broadcast.
