UKNY for February 18
Without much notice, Little Simz released a new EP, Drop 7, just over a week ago, seven songs that drift euphorically into dimensions of dance. It also marks the tenth anniversary of the debut of her Drop series which began with 2014's Age 101: Drop 1. On tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m., I'll get to something from Little Simz's very welcome Drop 7 odyssey.
In fact, there's a delightful overabundance of new music to get to in just an hour, including a deeper dig into the excellent debut album from Brighton's Lime Garden, called One More Thing, and forthcoming albums from Nadine Shah (Filthy Underneath, released February 23), Yard Act (Where's My Utopia, March 1), and English Teacher (This Could Be Texas, April 12).
Also, the happy return of Mammoth Penguins and a new single from Band Spectra, plus William Doyle, Fold, Nectar Woode, Logic1000, and more.
That's "UKNY," Sunday nights from 11pm-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
