On this Valentine's Day eve, a couple lead off tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m. — the London-based duo Wings of Desire, comprised of former INHEAVEN bandmates Chloe Little and James Taylor. The pair released two excellent EPs last year, Amun-Ra and End of An Age, and are kicking off 2022 with a brand new single.

Also, more from Obongjayar's debut album, Some Nights I Dream of Doors, out on May 13, and on Friday, Ride's Andy Bell released his new solo album, Flicker. Kae Tempest has a thorny billet doux to the British isles, and I'll dig deeper into Black Country, New Road's beautiful, ambitious, and bittersweet sophomore album, Ants From Up There.

Bristol's Secret Shine, a Sarah Records alumnus, are marking their 30th anniversary and they're also on the fantastic Skep Wax tribute to their storied, former label, the compilation Under the Bridge.

I'll also play something from the sorely underappreciated, pioneering funk outlier Betty Davis, who passed away last week. She was way ahead of her time in the '60s and '70s, but her albums impressed an entire generation of superstars who embraced her sexual candor and style, notably Prince and Madonna.

British and global releases every Sunday night, 11 p.m.-midnight, on "UKNY," available in the Weekend Archives after broadcast.
