Looking in the rear view mirror of 2017, there wasn't much to feel good about — except for music. There were impressive debuts, new releases from reliable (and surprising) voices,  breakthrough albums, and the long-awaited return of old favorites.

Tonight's UKNY at 11 is a look back at some of my highlights of the year in music, including the impressive, award-winning debuts of Glasgow-London duo Sacred Paws and south London's Sampha,  a perfect single from Melbourne's Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever, and a gorgeous fourth album via This Is the Kit. Also, sleek dance grooves from London's Maya Jane Coles and an epic masterpiece from Los Angeles native Kamasi Washington.

Too cold to listen and hiding under a blanket? You can catch up to UKNY on demand immediately after broadcast in the FUV Weekend Archives.
