UKNY for December 25

On this late Christmas night hour, joyful (and bittersweet) songs of the season (and the day) from Saint Etienne, Arlo Parks, Phoenix, The Go! Team and more.

Reykjavík's Laufey does her own cover of a classic made famous by Frank Sinatra, while Hampshire's The Chah, the singer and songwriter Chanelle Aristide remembers her late mother via a beautiful song that resonates for anyone grieving a loved one over the holidays. And Wolf Alice resurrect a 19th century poem that's become far more famous as a Christmas carol.

Also, a lovely cover song from The Colourfield — it was a shock to lose the great Terry Hall of that band, as well as The Specials, Fun Boy Three, and other collaborations. Terry passed away on Monday after a battle with pancreatic cancer at the far too young age of 63.
