UKNY for December 22
It's bitterly cold (and even snowy) out there, but there's warmth this coming week thanks to the rare intersection of Christmas, Hanukkah and Kwanzaa. On tonight's "UKNY" at 11p.m., songs of winter contemplation, carols, deep snow drifts, December daydreaming, and a double dose of Saint Etienne, who released their new album, The Night, on December 13 (St. Lucia Day in Sweden). Not only something new from Saint Etienne's Sarah Cracknell, Bob Stanley, and Pete Wiggs, but a more vintage winter solstice song from the trio too.
Both Ezra Collective and Lucy Rose have freshly-released Christmas songs, plus frosty, garland-draped musings from New York's Lightning Bug, Gold Panda, Gruff Rhys, Emma Tricca, Laufey and more.
British and global releases on "UKNY," Sundays from 11p.m,-midnight, on 90.7FM, streaming online and in the Archives after broadcast.
