Beabadoobee, the London-based singer and songwriter Bea Kristi Laus, sold out both of her New York shows at Terminal 5 this past week and Tuesday night's show was an euphoric affirmation of her huge popularity. Bea's fans are almost as fun to watch as Bea and her band; I've rarely seen such intense ardor and affection in any crowd, even boygenius, known for their own devoted fans.  Beabadoobee's set, deftly arcing from sweet to snarling, was one of the happiest concerts I've ever attended. (The crowd also lost its collective mind when they spotted Laufey in the VIP section.) On tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m., I'll play Bea's latest single, a summery, lovelorn reverie.

Public Service Broadcasting have released the impressive This New Noise digitally with the official release date on September 8 on Test Card Recordings; the album was recorded with the 88-piece BBC Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Jules Buckley, at last year's BBC Proms—and I'll get to one of the selections, celebrating the centenary of the BBC.

Also, new releases from Newcastle's always frank Du Blonde, Seoul's Dabda, Manchester poet and performer Antony Szmierek, and The Clientele, who'll be playing New York's Bowery Ballroom this Thursday, August 10.

British and international releases on "UKNY," Sundays from 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online and in the Archives after broadcast.
