The Midlands lion, Robert Plant, returns with his 11th solo album, Carry Fire, on October 13 and on UKNY at 11, the first teaser from his gorgeous (it really is) forthcoming collection of songs with the Sensational Shape Shifters. Plant again satisfies his ever-restless exploration of fresh ideas, with a thoughtful and even tender acknowledgement of what came before.

Also, the remastered deluxe edition of Underworld's 1999 release, Beaucoup Fish, came out yesterday, so we'll hear an epic Essex-meets-Detroit track from that record, and the latest from Maya Jane Coles, My Sad Captains, the Cornshed Sisters and Giant Party.

Out late or asleep early? You can always catch up to UKNY on-demand immediately after broadcast via the Weekend Archives on WFUV.org.
