UKNY for April 5

Anyone who caught Wet Leg on their "Moisturizer" tour late last summer, including Central Park SummerStage, also had the chance to see London's lower-case-loving mary in the junkyard supporting — the adventurous, alt-rock trio released their debut EP, This Old House, in 2024 and have since released a series of punchy singles, including last year's "Drains." The trio has finally announced their debut album, Road Model Hermit, released on July 3 via AMF, and on "UKNY" tonight at 11 p.m., an early taste of that record.
The second album from British-French musician and producer Lauren Auder is out in the world — Whole World as a Vigil is bold in its production and electronic sea of idioms and ideas, but it's strikingly personal too. Nubiyan Twist's latest album, Chasing Shadows, strives for positive euphoria during these dark times – including a song featuring Tanzania's The Zawose Queens, an intersection of Gogo, Afrobeat, and jazz.
Blossom Caldarone's new EP, Might Smash a Window, is out on April 10, and I'll have something else from that lovely release too.
Also in tonight's mix: a surreal new single from Dry Cleaning, Montréal's Hélène Barbier, Brighton's Divorce Attorney, more from Arlo Parks' just-released Ambiguous Desire, and another track from HELP(2), the great benefit album for War Child.
That's "UKNY," Sundays from 7-8 p.m. on 90.7FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
