The London trio Girl Ray have shapeshifted their sound from album to album — and their forthcoming third release, Prestige, released on August 4 on the Moshi Moshi label, finds Poppy Hankin, Iris McConnell and Sophie Moss delving into what they call the "outsider" foundation of disco music. On "UKNY" at 11 p.m. tonight, the latest single from Girl Ray.

Black Country, New Road have also changed and adjusted over their complicated but brilliant career — and their live album, Live at Bush Hall, recorded over three days in December 2022, is a testament to the band's friendship through thick and thin. The group's "new" vocalists, Tyler Hyde, May Kershaw, and Lewis Evans, all stepped forward after the departure of Isaac Wood, and have yet again, reinvented this remarkable (and resilient) band.

Found in tonight's mix too: Manchester legends A Certain Ratio, Glasgow's Cloth, London's Nibihah Iqbal, and Mercury Prize nominee Jorja Smith, back with a new single. Also, since Coachella wraps tonight, a set for anyone who indulged in "Couchella" — watching the livestream of the festival from home.

That's "UKNY," Sunday nights from 11p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and found in the Archives after broadcast for two weeks.
