UKNY for April 2
Bradford-born Nia Archives spent some formative years in Manchester, honing her producing and DJing chops, and now the London-based artist is one of the most intriguing dance, drum-and-bass and jungle auteurs on the scene. Her third EP, Sunrise Bang Ur Head Against Tha Wall, is a glorious rattle of beats and big emotions, that finds her pushing her own boundaries within drum-and-bass's frenetic euphoria. She'll be here in New York this Friday, April 7, for a show at Elsewhere. On tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m., one of the tracks from her latest release.
Speaking of euphoria, that topic is very much on Georgia's mind; her third album, Euphoric, drops on July 28 and she has released its very first single.
Also in the mix, the latest song from Hull's bdrmm, now signed to Mogwai's Rock Action label, and a batch of London bands, including Jungle, Moreish Idols, Girl Ray, Warmduscher and New York-bound Ezra Collective who have a three-day residency at the Blue Note this week, April 7, 8, and 9.
That's "UKNY," Sundays 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online, and in the Archives after broadcast.
