Full confession: due to travel, tonight's "UKNY" had to be prerecorded early last week, so I just missed the inclusion of the starry, spiky return of the new Pulp single — sorry, Jarvis! That said, there are other fantastic big comebacks to cheer about this evening at 11 p.m., like Stereolab, bouncing back with their first album in 15 years, Instant Holograms on Metal Film, out on May 23. The group's skyward-tilting new single is co-written by Laetitia Sadier and Tim Gane.

In addition, Allo Darlin' has also stepped into the fray after a nine-year gap; the British-Australian quartet's first new music since 2016 is "Tricky Questions" (and a comeback album seems likely too). And Kae Tempest is looking ahead with their first new music in three years, the fiery and bright "Statue in the Square," an anthem that rings with particular potency in these heavy days of intolerance.

Also in tonight's mix, more from the Scottish-American Witch Post, Glasgow's Malka, Bournemouth-Lisbon's Dirty Nice, and  London-based Rival Consoles and Black Country, New Road. More from Mandrake Handshake, the proggy, psychedelic London-Oxford dectet, and Toronto's Tanika Charles too.

British and global releases on "UKNY," Sundays 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7 FM, streaming online and in the Archives after broadcast.
