The forthcoming album collaboration between Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie and Savages' Jehnny Beth (who is more a solo artist of late) might sound surprising to some, but the pair met back in 2015 during a Suicide concert at London's Barbican (they backed Martin Rev and Alan Vega on "Dream Baby Dream"). Bobby and Jehnny will release their debut album, Utopian Ashes, as a duo on July 2 via Third Man, but the sound of their first single aligns more with Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris than Rev and Vega. On tonight's "UKNY" at 11 p.m., that gorgeous tease of things to come.

Also, LoneLady's Julie Campbell has returned with a new single at long last; the Manchester musician's second album, Hinterland, came out back in 2015 (which seems like decades ago). More  Manchester grooves too via A Certain Ratio, with an EP ahead saluting their much-missed bandmate Denise Johnson, who passed away last year.

And more on the docket from Isle of Eigg's Pictish Trail, Londoners Nubiyan Twist and Italia 90, and a beautiful collaboration between Paris's Mina Tindle and This is the Kit's Kate Stables, Bryce Dessner, and David Chalmin.

All on "UKNY," Sunday nights from 11 p.m.-midnight, on 90.7, streaming online, and available in the Weekend Archives after broadcast.
