Trixie Whitley at WFUV

It’s not always easy to follow in your parents’ footsteps. And when you are born a creative spirit, as Trixie Whitley was, being willing to take that path often involves finding your own voice first. She began performing with her father, the singer-songwriter, Chris Whitley, at age three. For the better part of her first two decades, Trixie Whitley lived between Belgium and the States.

She pursued dance and DJ’ing, and all the while, music was calling too. Now with two EPs, an album with Daniel Lanois as Black Dub, and a full-length debut under her belt, the talented Whitley has fully embraced her musical gift. She is back with her sophomore album, Porta Bohemica.

We were thrilled to welcome her back to FUV Live to share some new songs with us and chat about her latest endeavor.
