Bonjay

The electro-soul, dancehall-loving Toronto duo of Bonjay - Alanna Stuart and Ian Swain -  are making their second trip to SXSW this week, this time supporting their six-track EP Broughtupsy which is available now. Recently Alanna and Ian dropped by The Alternate Side's Studio A to talk with Alisa Ali and play a few songs, including "Stumble" which you can check out after the jump.

As I gear up for SXSW,  I'm thinking about all the bells and whistles attached to this beast of a conference and music festival. That reminded me of my recent talk with the Toronto duo, Bonjay, who combine indie music with dancehall.

They have a song that I adore called, "Stumble" which they performed for us live in Studio A. After they played the song, we talked about the use of sirens and airhorns in many dancehall songs. It was a pretty funny little conversation and a great performance of the song.
