Tamino, who releases his second album, Sahar, on September 23, joined me for an FUV Live conversation and performance in Studio A. It was a treat to catch up with the alluring voice of this Belgian-Egyptian artist who blends Middle Eastern, European, and American influences effortlessly.
His new songs simmer like a tagine perfumed with exotic spice, but in conversation, he's an affable, soft-spoken dude; even the most laid-back skater or surfer would seem frantic compared to Tamino's desert-night cool aura. When his smartphone finally comes out to send me a link to some music we were discussing, he seems as surprised by it as I am that he even has one.
