Sunday Supper for January 5
For what it's worth, the New Year brings a bunch of major birthdays which "Sunday Supper" feels duty-bound to celebrate. Stephen Stills, the prodigious talent behind Buffalo Springfield and CSNY, turned 80 on Friday. We'll hear songs and covers from those bands, as well as his solo career. We'll make time for Michael Stipe, the voice and lyricist of R.E.M. (65 on Saturday), and even Elvis Presley, who would've turned 90 on Wednesday.
On a sadder note, we'll honor Josh White, Jr., who passed last weekend at 84. He had an unbelievable 80 year career, starting as a 4-year-old prodigy performing with his legendary dad. On top of that, producer Jeremy Rainer and I will share our thoughts about the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown.
Ring in the new year with some old favorites between 4:00-6:00PM at 90.7 FM and streaming online, on-demand in the Archives, on the WFUV app, or the forward-looking smart speaker of your choice.
