Sunday Supper for December 8
Tom Waits is arguably one of America's four or five best songwriters. At his Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction, Neil Young commented, "He's sort of a performer, singer, actor, magician, spirit guide, changeling." This weekend, as he turns 75, "Sunday Supper" takes a deep dive into his catalogue, with covers by artists such as Shawn Colvin, Corinne Bailey Rae, and John Hammond, as well as his own distinctive vocals.
I'll also toast Steve Forbert, as he approaches the Big 7-0, offer a preview of "On Your Radar" with The Faux Paws, Dustin Lowman, and Autumn Sun on Tuesday at the Bitter End, and share new releases by local talent Eugene Ruffolo, Sean Kiely, and Pete Mancini.
Looking for the heart of Sunday afternoon from 4:00-6:00 p.m. EST at 90.7 FM and streaming online, on-demand in the Archives, on the WFUV app, or the idiosyncratic smart speaker of your choice.
