This  FUV Live session is also available as a podcast, "FUV Live Sessions." We're elevating WFUV's long history of live sessions and interviews via a podcast that you can find on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and Amazon Podcasts. New episodes drop every Monday.

Stephen Sanchez is a lover not a fighter. He’s shown through the songs he writes starting with his 2021 viral hit, “Until I Found You," a retro-'50s, soda-pop sweet, puppy love song that struck a chord with millions of people.

Sanchez's new album, Love, Love, Love also focuses on that big feeling, but in a broader, soulful sense. His new songs express love for friends and family, perfect strangers — and for lovers too.

In my conversation with Sanchez, he talked about his overwhelming gratitude for the love he has received and also the challenges of reciprocation in some cases.

He’s updated his sound on this new record to a more modern pop vibe but for this session, accompanied by guitarist Brooks Gengenbach, Sanchez stripped back a trio of songs to their intimate heart: “Sweet Love” “High,” and “Love, Love, Love."

[Recorded 3/17/26. Engineered by Jim O'Hara and Erin Merriman. Produced by Meghan Suma. Videographers: Mia Vilke, Bella Lipayon, Olivia Iannaccone and Gina Slavin.]
