Hear an FUV Live session with Greg Holden tonight at 9.

Six years ago, Scottish singer and songwriter Greg Holden came to New York City with dreams of finding a modern-day Greenwich Village scene. He found that community at Rockwood Music Hall on the Lower East Side, where he set up camp, playing and hanging out nightly. But as many have also discovered, New York is a tough town; it's expensive and fiercely competitive. Holden achieved moderate success but still struggled.

A life-changing trip to India reset the course of Holden's songwriting and his life. He co-wrote a song inspired by that journey, "Home," which was chosen to be performed on the TV series "American Idol" by the eventual 2012 winner, Phillip Phillips. Encouraged by the success of that song, Holden's work became more influenced by hope and gratitude. That positivity eventually led to a big record deal with Warner Brothers and the release of Holden's fourth album, Chase The Sun.

Hearing Greg Holden's songs performed in Studio A and his story is a great reminder that something as simple as a change in attitude, and desire to give back, can change everything.
