Grace Potter triumphantly returns from a 4-year musical hiatus with her new album, Daylight. After a tumultuous period which included the break-up of her band, the Nocturnals, plus a divorce, Potter was content to live a quieter life and just focus on taking care of her new son, Sagan.

Music was still a part of her life, though. She continued writing, but considered it something she was doing just for herself. It wasn’t until she started crooning to her crying baby that she realized that the act of singing was not only giving her child a sense of peace, but her as well.

After this revelation, she decided to get back in the game, and during this episode of FUV Live, I talk with her about this musical journey. Of course, she also sings some of the new songs for us in Studio A, and for this session, Potter was joined on guitar by her new husband and producer, Eric Valentine.
